Minutes of Search Committee Meeting
October 5, 2012
Present: Bob Smith, Gloria Schropfer and Judy Cannon
The meeting came to order at 9:30.
It was decided that each liaison would contact all their applicants and let them know whether or not there are openings on the selected committees. If not, we will try to connect the applicants with an appropriate committee that does have an opening. We will make notes on the applications for future reference.
We will contact chairmen of our committees prior to the next meeting to determine what the openings really are and if the chairmen have any suggestions that would be useful to us.
Judy will get a letter of resignation from Don.
Dave Schropfer will be notified of the opening on the Search Committee which he must fill and provided with Dilys Smith application.
Our charge must be corrected. It must clearly state that appointments to be made by Finance Committee and Moderator do not require a Search Committee Interview; although the Search Committee will provide applications on file for the committees in question. Inter-Committee appointments; (for example the 1651 Advisory Committee and the CPA are required to have members appointed to them by other specified committees) will not necessitate participation by the Search Committee.
Gloria will be provided with Felice Conal’s appliation and try to get her appointed to the Cultural Council as well as Stan Holt.
Bob will arrange for interviews with Alan Ringgold for Bikeways and Andrea Aldana and Fred Guidi for Recycling and Dilys Smith for PACE
This will leave Animal Advisory needing one member (no applications at this time,) Cons Comm needing one member (No applications at this time).
Cultural Council has enough members to cover the charge. 1651 and Long Range Planning Committees are on hold at this time so there is nothing to do there.
We reassigned some of the liaison positions to Gloria: Old Town Centre, Cultural Council, Historical Commission, and Human Services Advisory Board. All the other liaison positions remain the same.
Meeting time has been rescheduled to the second and fourth Thursday of the Month.
